This course focuses on developing the students' critical thinking skills, and their ability to develop multiple ideas and concepts to solve problems. Students will develop both an understanding of creativity and increase their own ability to problem-solve. It will challenge the students to move outside of their existing comfort zone and to recognize the value of idea exploration, idea generation and idea development.  This course will also help the students to understand the importance of diverse ideas, and to convey that understanding to others. Students will participate in creative thinking activities designed to help develop their own creative processes through reflection, and demonstrate their learning through class exercises, designing projects, and through the development of the final assessment.

The Ethics in Psychology course at the university level explores the moral principles, standards, and regulations governing professional conduct in psychology. It provides students with the ethical foundation necessary to navigate dilemmas they may encounter in psychological practice, research, and applied settings. The course stresses regulations and standards in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct as a guide in the field of psychology, while also considering ethical codes from the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Malaysian Psychological Association (PSIMA).

Among the key topics covered are introduction to ethics, ethical applications, confidentiality, various professional relationships, and academic ethics in research, supervision, and teaching. The course ensures that students develop a strong ethical understanding applicable to different psychological domains.

Assessment for the course includes individual assignments, group projects, and written examinations, ensuring that students can critically analyze ethical dilemmas and apply ethical standards in real-world scenarios

The course aims to equip students with comprehensive advanced knowledge on concrete technology for the application in construction industry. Students will be able to categorize new and state-of- the art concrete materials other than normal Portland cement along with the ability to perform design mixes based on these advanced materials. Students will also be exposed to the current practice of concrete placement in challenged construction conditions. Durability performance, service life prediction and non-destructive testing of hardened concrete are also covered in this course.

This course provides a platform for students to explore a variety of non-governmental organizations and
community services for the disabled, drug and substance-abusers, the abused and neglected, patients
who need palliative care and others. Students will be attached to one of the non-organizations or centres
that provide these services.

This course focuses on developing sound statistical knowledge and skills for public health applications through lectures, readings, and computer labs, allowing “hands-on” analysis of real datasets. This involves identifying the most appropriate statistical techniques and modelling, applying those techniques using the statistical computing package SPSS, WarpPls, SmartPls, etc., and interpreting the outputs. Students will be exposed to a higher level of statistical analysis, such as factor analysis, including structural equation modelling, generalized equation modelling, cluster analysis, and survival analysis.

This course aims to produce a public health specialist who is competent in completing medical research related to public health. The total duration to complete public health research is six semesters, divided into six courses, i.e., Public Health Research 1 to 6, one course to be completed each semester. This course is purely research-based and will mainly involve self-directed learning with supervisory guidance. The candidate is required to develop, conduct, complete, and present a dissertation related to the research topic in the field of public health during this course. This course is the 4^th of the six courses and covers full data collection,  data entry,  and data analysis planning.
