This course is designed to familiarize the students with the basic concepts, principles, models, theories, and practices of organizations, organization structures and organizational processes and to help students to come up with basic solutions to optimize the performance of workers in organizations. Organization theory is a macro examination of organizations because it analyzes the whole organization as a unit. Organization theory is concerned with people aggregated into departments and organizations and with the differences in structure and behavior at the organization level of analysis. Organization theory might be considered the sociology of organizations. Organizational design is a human-centered approach to improving how people work together and how companies respond to change. The focus of organizational design is to come up with solutions to optimize the performance of workers in organizations. Hence this course would give students some basic ideas on how to analyze organizations with a view of improving their performance by considering the interaction of people and organizational structures

This course explores the dynamic relationship between employers and employees in the workplace, focusing on how industrial harmony is maintained through legal frameworks, trade unions, and collective bargaining. Special attention is given to the Malaysian context, including the principles of tripartism, trade disputes, industrial actions, and proper disciplinary procedures. Students will gain both theoretical and practical understanding of employment laws and how they are applied to resolve conflicts and uphold fairness in the work environment.

Introduction to the course: GKA2043 Research Methodology

This course is designed to assist students to develop a research proposal. It prepares the students towards their final year research project. Students will be exposed to all aspects of a research proposal such as its introduction, thesis statement, literature review, research objectives, hypothesis, research significance and research methods.
