
Environmental impact assessment is a mandatory procedure for any development that falls under prescribed activities stated in Environmental Quality Act 1974 and Natural Resource Environment Ordinance 1995. This course is specifically designed for graduating students to understand some basic knowledge on the guidelines of EIA, role of EIA, methods of auditing, inventory, and EIA studies of various disciplines; writing term of reference (TOR) or proposal for the project proponent, EIA report, predicting impact and mitigating measures. Students will also be taught on the procedures used by authorities to review EIA reports. In addition, students will also be exposed to current environmental problems and government policies concerning environmental protection.
